Rena’s practice focuses on the representation of developers, borrowers, and owners on the acquisition, development, and preservation of affordable, multi-family rental housing, with an emphasis on the Oregon market. She advises clients on a broad range of topics including real estate acquisitions and dispositions, construction contracts, Oregon prevailing wage compliance, Oregon property tax exemptions, low-income housing tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, and federal, state, and local housing subsidies. Rena is passionate about housing access for everyone and enjoys counseling her clients to bring their visions for affordable communities to life.

Prior to joining Kantor Taylor, Rena worked for eight years as Associate General Counsel of Central City Concern, a nonprofit affordable housing developer in Portland, Oregon where she represented the organization in all aspects of housing development and compliance. Rena received her B.S. from Portland State University and J.D. from Willamette University College of Law.

Rena is a member of the Oregon State Bar and the American Bar Association (Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law).

Rena has been involved in her community on the boards of JOIN and the Housing Development Center and has mentored new lawyers through the Oregon State Bar’s New Lawyer Mentoring Program. Rena is based in Portland, Oregon and enjoys hikes with her dogs when not at work.
