Fair Housing
Kantor Taylor attorneys advise many owners, developers, tax credit investors and management companies in housing issues arising out of compliance with the federal Fair Housing Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act as well as similar state and local anti-discrimination laws. We assist clients in avoiding potential discrimination claims by providing proactive advice and counsel. We also assist clients in the conciliation and settlement process. Kantor Taylor provides advice and guidance on disability design and construction requirements contained in federal fair housing laws, requirements for reasonable accommodation of disabled tenants, requirements for Housing for the Elderly, general eligibility and occupancy policies and procedures, and procedures for physical modifications to dwelling units. We also provide advice and guidance on the requirements under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
