Glenn Amster’s practice focuses on providing advice and assistance to clients in all aspects of real estate and real estate development, including due diligence and feasibility analyses, development strategies, property acquisition and leasing, environmental review, permitting and administrative proceedings, including litigation related to these areas. For the last three decades, he has represented private and public agency clients in hundreds of real estate projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.
In addition to his experience with real estate purchase and sale, leasing and other transactional matters, Glenn regularly advises clients on a wide range of policy and regulatory issues. These issues include compliance with national and state environmental laws; climate change analysis; wetlands; Endangered Species Act compliance; shorelines; water rights; Growth Management and zoning. He has helped clients prepare and process development proposals for vacant property, expansion or renovation of developed sites, due diligence and analysis for lenders and borrowers in restructurings or workouts, as well as the documentation necessary to implement these strategies.
As one of the few LEED® accredited attorneys in the Pacific Northwest, Glenn is particularly well-suited to advise on the most current practices, public policies and emerging regulations related to sustainability. Representative projects include subdivisions, planned unit (PUD) and master planned communities, commercial shopping centers, office buildings and business parks, apartments and mixed use complexes, and all varieties of industrial, commercial, residential, recreational and resort developments.
